EPA/AHERA Building Inspector-24 Hr. Accreditation Class This 24 hr. class is open to anyone desiring training in identification, inspection, sampling, and assessing asbestos materials in buildings. It is required for all AHERA inspectors and management planners, and is recommended for project designers, school administrators, maintenance personnel, asbestos coordinators, engineers, project managers and project monitors. Includes hands-on training and a field trip. 8 Hr. Refresher Class This 8-hour class satisfies the annual re-certification requirement for those who have received EPA/AHERA Project Designer Accreditation. |

AHERA Management Planner 16 Hr. Accreditation This 16 hr. class is open to any person certified as an EPA/AHERA Inspector. It is also required for all AHERA management planners, and is recommended for project designers, school administrators, maintenance personnel, asbestos coordinators, engineers, project managers and project monitors. •Class Outlines: Evaluation / Interpretation of Survey Results, Hazards Assessment, Legal Implications, Evaluation & Selection of Control Options, Role of Other Professionals, Developing and OM Plan, Regulatory Review, Record keeping for the Management Planner, Assembling & Submitting Management Plans, Financing Abatement Actions.
AHERA Management Planner 8 Hr. (Refresher) This one day course(four hours each) satisfies the requirements outlined in the Model Accreditation Plan (MAP) and the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA). It is required for anyone needing to renew their Inspector and Management Planner certificates. |

EPA/AHERA Project Designer 24 Hr. Accreditation EPA regulations require that persons who design a response action in schools, public or commercial buildings be accredited. A response action is defined under AHERA as enclosure, encapsulation, removal or repair of ACM. This course satisfies that requirement. It is recommended for industrial hygienists, engineers, architects, construction managers, estimators, and consultants. Annual refresher required.

Asbestos Abatement Certification for Contractors & Supervisor 40 Hr. This class meets the requirements of the State of Alaska Department of Labor (DOL 8 AAC 61.600-790), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA 29 CFR 1910, 1915 and 1926) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA/AHERA 40 CFR Part 763 subpart E). It covers the basics of asbestos abatement work through lectures, films, and hands-on workshops. This certification is required for all workers, contractors and supervisors, and recommended for health and safety professionals, maintenance and custodial personnel, school administrators, engineers, and project managers in the asbestos field.

Asbestos Air Monitoring 16 Hr. Accreditation Class This class provides training in air monitoring strategies and practices, covering EPA/AHERA regulations and safety. It is recommended for all asbestos abatement supervisors, consultants, school and government agencies involved with air monitoring for asbestos projects. Recommended as a prerequisite for the NIOSH 582 “Sampling and Evaluating Airborne Asbestos Dust” training. |
