Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response 40 Hr. (HAZWOPER) This 40 hour class is designed to meet the training requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120, and includes pertinent information from the EPA 40 CFR. This course ensures each student has a thorough understanding of the potential hazards to health and safety associated with site cleanup and emergency response. The seminar covers basic information through lectures, films, and hands-on workshops. Students also learn how to use personal protective equipment and air monitoring instruments, toxicology, medical surveillance, decontamination, emergency response planning, confined space entry and spill containment.
Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response 24 Hr. (HAZWOPER) This class is designed to meet the annual 8 hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response refresher training requirements of OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.120. This course reviews potential hazards to health and safety associated with site cleanup and emergency response. Students will also be briefed on state and federal regulatory changes. |

Supervision of Hazardous Waste Operations 8 Hr. (HAZWOPER) This class offers specific supervisory information for those individuals managing crews that hold the basic 40-hour HAZWOPER certification. Topics include the additional responsibilities of a hazardous waste operations supervisor, paperwork requirements, logistics of directing crews, etc. Classes will be tailored to meet the needs of the participants and are open to anyone currently holding a HAZWOPER 40-hour ID card or certificate. |

Hazardous Materials Transportation DOT/ IATA 24 Hr. This 24 hour Course meets the training requirements of 49 CFR Parts 700-704. It is designed for those responsibilities for preparing Hazardous Materials and Wastes shipments for air, water, highway, or rail transportation. Classroom material covers classification, preparation of shipping papers, packaging, marking, labeling, compatibility and load segregation. Hands-on training includes preparation of both national and international multi-modal shipping papers, packaging and load compatibility. |

Hazardous Materials Transportation DOT/ IATA 12 Hr. This 12 hour course meets the training requirements of 49 CFR Parts 700-704. It is designed for those responsibilities for preparing Hazardous Materials and Wastes shipments by air, water, highway, or rail transportation.. Classroom material reviews classification, preparation of shipping papers, packaging, marking, labeling, compatibility and load segregation. Hands-on training includes preparation of multi-modal shipping documents, packaging, and load compatibility. |

Hazardous Paint Certification 16 Hr. This course meets the requirement of the Alaska Department of Labor (DOL) for certain painters to obtain a hazardous painting certificate. According to 08 AAC 061. 800 persons who perform hazardous painting operations must attend an approved 16 hour course and obtain a certificate from the DOL. Renewal courses(8 hour) and certification are required every 3 years thereafter. The course provides instruction on the health and safety hazards of typical paint operations; engineering controls, work practices and PPE. Hands-on training consists of qualitative fit tests, setting up push-pull ventilation and using air flow measurement tools. |

Hazardous Paint Certification 8 Hr. (Refresher) This course meets the requirements of the Alaska Department of Labor (DOL) for persons who perform hazardous painting operations to attend an approved 16 hour course and obtain a certificate from the DOL. This Renewal course and certification is required every 3 years. The course provides instruction on the health and safety hazards of paint operations; engineering controls, work practices and personal protective equipment used to prevent exposures to hazardous paint products; toxicological and medical aspects of hazardous materials used in painting; general safety and hazard control procedures; and the use of an MSDS. Hands-on training consists of fit tests, setting up push-pull ventilation and using airflow measurement tools. |
